UPDATE THE SECOND : I'm allowing a week's extension (until the 2nd of January) since it's come to my attention many of you are really busy or have gone away.
After this time, i will release the list of secret santas, although from now on you may post them on deviantART.

UPDATE: Don't forget, you can upload your adopts ahead of time to the blog, but you must upload your gift adopts BY THE 25TH. You may only post them on deviantART on either the 24th or the 25th, however.
Please remember I will be releasing the list of who got who on the 25th, so it'll be obvious if you don't make a gift for your partner

hey everyone!! i realize this is a bit early, but i've decided to do an adopt secret santa!!
this will work like a normal secret santa, except you will essentially be making a custom adopt for your partner.
_{since there aren't THAT many adopt makers, there will be a limit of 36 participants.}
unfortunately (fortunately?) i've had the experience of running several secret santas in the past, and nothing is as unpleasant as somebody complaining about their gift ( or recieving a really sub-par gift when they put tons of effort into theirs), so there will be a basic quality standard.

How will this work?
After being accepted, you will write up a journal with requests for your 'custom' adopt and link it to me, and it will be added to a list (which will be posted after all participants are confirmed) on the speciality blog, here - adoptsecretsanta.tumblr.com/
Then I will use a random number generator to pair up participants (who will be number and anonymous), and i'll bully/bribe my sister/friend/relative into sending out the informing notes - i will have no idea who's paired up with who.

How long do we have?
Sign ups will close in 1 week, or earlier if all the spots are filled up.  You have until December the 24th to do your gift adopt, although you may submit it anonymously to the blog from the 14th onwards.  (Saying who it's for, of course)

Can I do more than one adopt for my partner?
Of course! You could submit adopts multiple times after submissions open if you wanted to! To prevent some people being spammed/others getting jealous, however, there will be a limit of five adopts per partner.

I have a lot of personal issues with _____, what if i get paired with them?
Based on past experience, this is a possibility, in which case you should note me and I will ensure that when their partner/your partner is being picked, you don't get each other.

Can I be paired with ________?
No, sorry. Pairs will be randomly selected. The only way you have some impact on who you get/who gets you is if you have a legitimate reason to not want to draw for them.

Help! My partner didn't give me enough information/I can't draw ______!
send an ask anonymously to the blog adoptsecretsanta.tumblr.com/ requesting more information, with your partner's name in the ask. I will then ask them, and post their reply as the ask reply.

Can I post the adopts I make on dA?
yes, but only after the 24th, as this would reveal your identity and sort of spoil the surprise, lmao.

If I don't like the adopt I got, can I sell it/swap it/give it away?
I can't give you a definite answer - this depends on who gave you your adopt/s, so it's best to ask them.
I personally do not approve of reselling, especially if the adopt was originally a freebie/gift, but people have differing views.
